Welcome to the Spring Term for class 3. We hope that everyone has had a restful Christmas break and the children are ready for the learning and adventures that we have planned for this term. This includes Anglo-Saxons, Scots & Vikings, learning to play samba and the annual year 3/4 dance festival.
Last Friday, Class 3 was invited to participate in the annual Bridport Dance Festival held at Freshwater. As expected the children were a credit to the school as they performed the Rio Carnival dance with flare and confidence. The children learnt the dance in only three afternoons. Well done Class 3. Miss Jenkin, Mrs Meek and Mrs Parry are incredibly proud of your ongoing achievements. Please see the link below for the video of the dance.
World Book Day Dance
To celebrate world Book Day we worked with a dance instructor or create a dance based on the book, ‘Where the wild things are’. The children had a great time creating the different scenes an putting together their final piece. Below is a selection of pictures for our session. More can be found under the Gallery tab.
As part of the schools, Brazil week Class 3 researched the animals in the rainforests. We then made our chosen animal ready for the parade on the last day. It also gave us the opportunity to showcase our samba skills, helping to teach the rest of the school and performing at the parade. There was also dance workshops and making musical shakers. What a busy week we had.
This week we have been investigating techniques for making simple pneumatic systems. We designed and made our own moving monsters. Here are just a couple of pictures of what we made. Please see all our pictures in the gallery C3 Moving Monsters Feb 18. They are all fantastic!
This week we started learning Samba. In 10 weeks we will put on a concert to our family and the rest of the school.
