Happy New Year and welcome back!
Spring 2018 Homelinks
It is so important to know about how to stay safe in the home. We enjoyed a visit from Rose, who works with the Dorset and Wiltshire Fire Rescue service. She taught us about the different things in the home that we should stay away from and about what to do if there is a fire. We also dressed up in the firefighter uniforms as quickly as we could, just like the real firefighters!
Forest School - clay Gruffalo characters
We love to get creative at Forest School and this week we took some clay into the woods to create our own Gruffalo characters. Sticks became legs and tails, leaves were wings and ears and there was even some prickles for the Gruffalo's prickly back!
More photos in our gallery, please take a look.
Chinese New Year
We love to learn about and celebrate the exciting, colorful festival of Chinese New Year.
We have read the story of 'The Great Race', where the names of the years were decided upon by a race across the river with the animals. Everybody though it was a bit sneaky of the rat to have a lift on the ox's back!
We have used our very own Chinese dragon and lion to do our own dancing on the stage. We have made our own secret messages to go inside fortune cookies and are making Chinese New Year cards and lucky money envelopes.
We loved the dragon dancing.
Forest School - Charlie's Superhero Underpants
We love it when we can take our learning outside and a story about washing blowing away on a wild and windy day seemed perfect today! Poor Charlie's Superhero Underpants blew off the line and Class 1 set off into the woods to see if they could find them.
The found all sorts of animals wearing all sorts of clothes and, luckily, they did find the all important Superhero Underpants on the monkey!
