Arts and Crafts
Arts and crafts is run by Mrs Wills.
We will be making all sorts of things in our club so do check back and have a look!
The children learnt about why Rangoli patterns are important to Hindus. They made their own with the coloured sand. What beautiful colourful patterns!
The children love fireworks and love the chance to create their own firework pictures. They experimented with different ways of making their fireworks explode! We love the bright colours!
We used the hammers to create some natural art work today. All the colours came out of the petals and leaves when we hammered them leaving lovely colourful patterns.
We love working with natural resources and today we used the conkers for experimenting with 'transient art'. The children loved being able to change and move their conkers around to create something different.
Following on from our theme across the school this week, we created our own worlds in Art Club today.
Today we were decorating our own plant pots. We looked at some designs on line and had a go at the ones we liked. The watermelon design was popular but I loved to see something different too! All they need is some beautiful flowers growing in them now!
Today we enjoyed the Owl Babies story and had a go at making our own clay owls.
We used lots of skills in shaping and decorating the owls. We even ended up with some baby owls!
Wax Resist Painting
A totally different sort of art work today. The children enjoyed looking at pieces of wax resist artwork and used it to inspire their own pieces.
We collected some natural items in the garden and then laminated them to make bookmarks. Some people decided that it made a lovely picture and kept it as one large piece.
The Faraway Tree
Following our nature theme, this week we made our own trees by collecting sticks and arranging them in a lump of clay. By the next week they were dry and ready to paint to make our magical, faraway trees!
