Class 4 Autumn 2021
Children in Need - Spots, Stripes and crazy hair
Class 4 on BBC Radio Solent and Q&A with Chris Packham about the COP26 Environmental Issues
On Wednesday morning, BBC Radio Solent came to interview some of Class 4 about our thoughts about COP26 and environmental issues. We were selected as one of the schools to ask a question directly to environmentalist Chris Packham.
At 7:50am Maggie, Chaise, Amelia, Sara, Amaya, Ellie, Daisy, Tilly and Miss J (who were in school early) were interviewed live on the Breakfast Show about our thoughts and hopes for the environmental future.
We then joined up with 30 schools from across Dorset, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight to ask Chris Packham an environmental question.
Poppy asked: ‘At our school we challenged ourselves to find 100 ways to change the world. We have now completed our 100 ways. What do you think our next goal should be?’
Chris’s reply was to congratulate us on doing this and to spread the word to other schools about changing the world. He suggested that we should think about what we could do next, for example having meat free days in school.
Chris told us that his mantra is ‘Winning is not giving up.’ And this is linked to our desire to change our world for the better.
Chris’s last words were that we should all be kind to each other, have tolerance, be patient and polite in making the changes that we need.
Greek Vase
We have completed our Greek Art Project making vases. They took longer than expected but we are pleased with the end results.
Year 6 got to visit the Inside Out Dorset Festival held at the Symondsbury Estate on Friday and saw the world!
