Forest School Fun

What an action‑packed half term we’ve had at Forest School! The children have embraced every moment outdoors, showing incredible creativity and resilience especially given the wet and muddy conditions thrust upon us.
The first two weeks of the term were too windy for all groups to visit the woods. Instead we enjoyed some local walks around Coppet Hill looking a nature and man-made features whist experiencing the power of the wind at higher elevations.
Our craft activity this term was making Valentines themed decorations using a variety of red wool and some freshly cut hazel. One of our highlights was making bird feeders to help support local wildlife during the colder months. The children hollowed out orange halves before filling them with our delicious bird seed and lard combo.
We also introduced our new peg looms, which were an instant hit. The children experimented with colours and patterns to produce some beautiful scarves. The children also leant some new knots to help develop their den building skills.
