Oak Class Spending our Scarecrow Winnings

This week, a group of enthusiastic young gardeners from Oak Class joined Mrs O’Keefe on a special trip to Groves Garden Centre, celebrating our recent win in the centre’s annual Scarecrow Competition.

After crafting a creative scarecrow that captured the judges’ attention, the children were awarded a £50 gift voucher. With autumn in full swing, they used the prize to purchase a vibrant selection of spring bulbs and compost, aiming to transform a quiet corner of our playground into a blooming spring garden.

The planting took place under the large tree in the playground, where the children carefully placed the bulbs in freshly prepared soil. Their excitement was palpable as they imagined the colourful display that will greet students and visitors when spring arrives.
