Oak Class Washingpool Farm

Oaks had a wonderful day at Washingpool Farm on Wednesday in the glorious sunshine.  Chef Andy, shared his cookery knowledge and expertise throughout the day.  The children learnt how to make a soft cheese, cooked flatbreads on the bbq, they picked radishes, chard, herbs and rhubarb from the poly tunnels.  In the afternoon, the children made three salad dressings, beef kebabs, two salads and a rhubarb puree.  We had an amazing banquet altogether at the end of the session…what a delicious feast!  It was such a successful day and the children loved it.  Thank you to Katie and the Discovery Farming volunteers who supported the children and a massive thank you to Andy for his time and enthusiasm.
