Settlement Day
We all came to school dressed as Anglo Saxons today. The children then taught the rest of the group about their specialist area. They spent a week researching and planning their activities. We had workshops on; Culture, Food and Farming, Gods and Religion, Weapons and War, and Daily Life. It was amazing to see how much knowledge the children had and the activities they had designed to back up the learning.
We then spent the afternoon looking at how Anglo Saxons lived by setting up their own villages and looked at trading to get the resources that each group would need to survive.
Their Learning Log project was to create a shield – these were just amazing.
Well done everyone a great day with fabulous work.
Washingpool Farm Trip
Letters - Washingpool Farm - 18th May 2022
A fun day at the farm learning everything we would need to set up our own Anglo Saxon Village.
May Day Celebrations
A very traditional day today where we celebrated the start of summer with traditional May Day celebrations – there was group dancing and one around the May Pole.
It was lovely to see so many parents who came to enjoy the event too and those who participated in the final dance.
